How does an account merge?

Many Sellers, at the moment of verifying their phone for posting, realize their number is associated with another account.

In addition to offering users the option to switch accounts and change Phone numbers, OLX now provides an option to Merge Accounts.

Process while Posting Ad:

• Press "Sell" to post an Ad
• Fill in necessary details of the item being sold
• Please enter a valid phone
• Receive and enter OTP (One-time passcode)
• Message received” This Phone number is already taken by a user. The phone you entered is already associated with another account. You can get your accounts together if you want”
• The account merging button will show at the end 
• Tap Merge account:

                       > Yes, continue merging 

                       > No, go back to Account

• After Yes, receive a Confirmation message: Congratulations. Your Ad will be shortly Live….

In case your account cannot be merged then you will get to below screen

Process while Linking Account:

• Go to my profile
• Select to link Phone number
• Please enter a valid Phone number

• Receive and enter OTP (One-time passcode)
• Message received” This Phone number is already taken by a user. The phone you entered is already associated with another account. You can get your accounts together if you want”
• The account merging button will show at the end 
• Tap Merge account. A confirmation message will show: ‘You have linked your phone & merged your accounts successfully
• Your linked Phone number will reflect in your profile

In case your account cannot be merged then you will get below screen:

Reasons for "No" Account Merge option:

> Is a Business account

> Account has active subscriptions in My Orders
